Food 4r Thought!

Life is a game of cards.
You did not invent the game, Nor did you frame the rules.
You have no control over the cards dealt to you.

But you are there to play...

A good player, even with a bad hand of cards,
will play well and emerge a winner.
A bad player, even with the best of cards,
will play badly and lose.

Result Out!

Food 4r Thought!

The greatest danger for most of us
is not that our aim is too high, and we miss it.
But that our aim is too low, and we reach it..

Cameraphone used to control computers in 3D

A camera-equipped cellphone can be used to control a computer as if it was a three-dimensional mouse, thanks to prototype software developed by UK researchers.

The software makes it possible to move and manipulate onscreen items simply by waving a handset around in front of a screen, a bit like the motion-sensitive Nintendo Wii controller.

"It feels like a much more natural way to interact and exchange data," says Nick Pears, of York University, UK, who made the system with colleagues Patrick Olivier and Dan Jackson at Newcastle University, also in the UK. "Most people who see it think it is really cool."

Pears says the current prototype, which can be used to control a desktop computer, is just the first step.

"The invention really comes into its own when you realise that modern large public displays are really just computers with big screens," he says. For example, the software could let people interact with video advertisements.

To control a screen, a user simply aims their cellphone's camera at it. The handset then connects, via Bluetooth, to the computer that operates that screen.

SMS Based Purchasing System

Going out in the market for purchasing & then waiting long time for your product & paying your bills, make all of us furious. And we pray to GOD, please SAVE US. To remove this, we then went for home delivery systems but still we need new innovations & methodologies installed in this area. Here now, I present you with a system that not only make the customer life easier but also will make company gain profits.
We all sometimes order food from our homes like pizza from PIZZA HUT and other items from chains like KFC, McDonalds and so on. Order has to be made from either your telephone or cell phone.
Calling & making an order presents lots of problems for both to the customer as well as for the company. Here are some:

  • Needs a Call service to place an order at both ends
  • Calls do cost to the Customer
  • More human interaction at the call center end creates chances of human errors
  • High Cost to implement & maintenance of the Call Centers
  • Unawareness of the UAN # dialing from your cell phone

Now here I present you with a system that is called as “SMS Based Purchasing System”. People who are having their accounts present just need to use the SMS formats to basically place an order, at Companies end a System is present that will automatically process the order without any human interaction & will confirm the order, its time for delivery & its price to the Customer & provides order details to the company. This how, an automated purchasing system is created. This automated system provides the following capability:

  • System is fast, efficient & processes the order within 10 Seconds
  • System is reliable because of less human error chances
  • System is secure because of the security gateways
  • Customer itself interact with the System so no human is required for data entry
  • Less costly for implementation at lower level
  • Cheaper for the customer as well as for the company since SMS cost few paisa
  • Customer after placing his order is send an SMS for confirmation of the order
  • Since in Pakistan, Mobile is a craze so a big opportunity for the company to promote its product to its customer using Mobile-Commerce
  • Provide user with the facility to access their account details, Latest Menus their Prices
  • If one user is having an account & its being used by other so both will be provided the confirmation & the one having the account can cancel the order so making the system intensively secure

Concrete Thinking for a Sustainable World Student Competition

Concrete Thinking for a Sustainable World CompetitionThe Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA) is pleased to announce the fourth annual CONCRETE THINKING FOR A SUSTAINABLE WORLD, International Student Design Competition. Administered by ACSA and sponsored by the Portland Cement Association (PCA) and the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, the program is intended to challenge students, working individually or in teams, to investigate an innovative application of Portland cement-based materials to achieve sustainable design objectives.

The focus of this competition is to craft an investigation, identify a design improvement and create a solution containing concrete or any Portland cement-based application as a key building material. There are two separate categories, and awards are totaling nearly $50,000.

Entries must be uploaded through the ACSA Competition website by 5:00 pm, Eastern Time, on 3 June 2009. Visit the site to learn more.

Goals, Motivations & Believe

Goals, Motivations & Believe

Success Is Something That Only Comes When You Have Three Things

Goals, Motivations & Believe

Goals, Motivations & Believe is what you all require,

Is the key to what ever you need to acquire.

Goals are the needs that you require,

Comes only when you have a desire.

Motivation are the road map for what ever you desire,

Creates In you a speed like a fire.

Believe is something out of the world,

It comes only when you being in the world.

Saying and Doing are the two different Worlds,

But both happens when you think out of the World.

So Believe in yourself is what we all need to concrete,

Rest is all done by the almighty indeed.

The courage that you get from Believing in yourself, is the gift from God,

The reason behind it is your determination and all.

So Roads are the ways that you need to choose,

Rest are standing here and there to help you, calm you & make you cool.

So All you require are the Goals, Motivations & Believe,

Since Success Only Comes When You Have A Believe in yourself.

e-Badge Using RFID With Biometrics

Abstract

eBADGE USING RFID WITH BIOMETRICS is a personal identification system ,which allows a person to access a restricted area. The system becomes more secure with the addition of Fingerprint technology. The biometrics and RFID work in tandem, if a fingerprint scan does not match one that's stored, information from the integrated RFID tag will not be accessible.

RFID means providing electronic identity to any object. Electronic information about the object is stored in RFID chip embedded or attached to the object. With an RFID reader, the electronic identity (code in the form of several bits of data) can be read wirelessly. Because the technology uses radio waves, no line of sight is required and RFID tags embedded inside an object can be sensed. Further, an RFID reader can read multiple RFID tags simultaneously .

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is an automatic identification method, relying on storing and remotely retrieving data using devices called RFID tags or transponders. An RFID tag is an object that can be attached to or incorporated into a product, animal, or person for the purpose of identification using radio waves. Chip-based RFID tags contain silicon chips and antennae. Passive tags require no internal power source, whereas active tags require a power source.

RFID tags can either be passive or active. Passive tags cost less and work without a battery .On the other hand, active tags are costly and have an embedded power source. The electronic identification stored in a tag can either be fixed or dynamically updatable. RFID tags can be sensed by an RFID reader from a few centimeters to a few meters depending on the frequency of operation and the type of tags. RFID tags are very rugged and come in several form factors. These can even be embedded in a piece of paper or in a form that can be permanently tagged to a shirt.

The person who owns this badge will first enroll the data in fingerprint sensor module. When the person places his thumb on the sensor it will be compared with the enrolled one and if the person is identified then a Manchester encoded data is modulated and transmitted using ISM band. At the receiver end the signal will be demodulated, decoded and data is compared with the stored ones based on which the door will be opened and his personal details will be displayed on the LCD screen.

Manchester coding has been adopted into many efficient and widely used telecommunications standards, such as Ethernet . Manchester coding provides a simple way to encode arbitrary binary sequences without ever having long periods without level transitions, thus preventing the loss of clock synchronization, or bit errors from low-frequency drift on poorly-equalized analog links. If transmitted as an AC signal it ensures that the DC component of the encoded signal is zero, again preventing baseline drift of the repeated signal, making it easy to regenerate and preventing waste of energy.
